PREVAILING VOICE DAILY

Topic: WORD SERIES…part 5
Text: Psalms 119: 89-93.
89: Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven [stands firm as the heavens].
90: Your faithfulness is from generation to generation; You have established the earth, and it stands fast.
91: All [the whole universe] are Your servants; therefore they continue this day according to Your ordinances.
92: Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
93: I will never forget Your precepts, [how can I?] for it is by them You have quickened me (granted me life). Amplified.
As the Holy Spirit inspires me, I get more revelations for this series of teaching, I am persuaded in my spirit-man that God is doing something already through this series.
From our text, God’s word is settled in heaven, Amplified version says, ‘ stands as the heavens ‘. Jesus went deeper in Mark 13:31: Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. This means God’s word is sure than the Heaven and Earth.
You might not understand Mark 13:31 until I come out this way: this is what Jesus meant, no matter how old the Earth is, it will pass away one day. Now, you imagine how long the Earth has been in existence, get it lifespan before Christ and after Christ’s death. Many generations have passed away, the age of this Earth is not small, in fact, some people believe that the Earth will keep existing.
You imagine the heaven too, can you guess it age? You probably can’t, so, when Jesus was saying, ‘ Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away ‘, he meant my words will out live the Heaven and the Earth.
You probably don’t understand this yet, let me show you another scripture. 1John 2:17; And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. This world will pass away, but anyone who does the will of God, (obeys God’s word, the Bible) lives forever. It means the word of God has eternal life in it. Jesus also confirmed this in John 6:63. Look at it here; It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
I like the scriptures, believe me honestly, when you get revelations from the Bible, it will sound sweet to your ears, in my hunger for God, I have always desire his words, and over the years, I have found God’s word sweeter than honey.
Time will fail me to explain all verses of our passage here, let me take one more. Verse 92; Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. My God! this is deep. The writer is saying here that he would have died in his affliction, if not for his delight for God’s word. This best described my life, the enemy was bent on destroying me; my Mum told me what I went through at birth, and how I lost my legs at the age of 3, I would have been confined to a wheel chair if not for God’s grace and mercy.
I have seen challenges in all ramifications, believe me honestly, if not for my delight for his word, I would have perished in my afflictions.
God’s word has power to make you overcome any form of challenge or affliction. In your own interest, take delight in God’s word, be committed to obeying his words, and you will see mountains crumble before you. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Help me Lord, to take delight in your word always.
