Topic: HOME FOUNDATION.. Part 4

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Last week in part 3, we discussed about ungodly spiritual foundation which are sacrifices, blood covenant or oath e.t.c
Today, we want to round off this topic as we consider a few more ungodly foundation which are resulted from bad counsels, wrong societal beliefs e.t.c
* Premarital Coexistence: Our text above says a man will leave his father and mother and cleave (coexist) unto his wife and they shall be one flesh, however this cleaving (coexisting) should only occur after the man has been rightfully joined to his wife by God, by the law of the land and by parental consent. But the norm today is coexistence as husband and wife before marriage, this is a premarital coexistence not approved by God and done without parental consent, beloved this is a wrong and ungodly foundation, it is not a good path to thread.
* Premarital Pregnancy: Pregnancy out of wedlock is a very terrible path many youths thread today before marriage, this is birth from wrong societal beliefs and bad counsels. God does not approve of this, irrespective of the justifiable excuses behind such acts or beliefs, it is a wrong foundation for marriage, it is ungodly and it is sinful to God.
* Single Parenthood: This is a concept where a lady is not ready to be married with a man as husband and wife, but rather want to live alone and raise children by herself. Such ladies get themselves pregnant by any man without getting married, then nurse the pregnancy and raise children alone. It could also be vice versa (I mean for a man also). This is a wrong way of life and it is against God’s plan for home/family, so it is an ungodly foundation. God does not institute single parenthood, neither does He support divorce for any reason, where the husband and wife become separated and turned themselves into single parents.
Dearly beloved, the aftermath of raising a family or home on ungodly foundation is usually not pleasant especially knowing that you shut God out of your home, family and marriage. It is not too late, there is room for repentance and an opportunity to invite God into the foundation and affairs of your life, home and family. God bless you
