PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
5th December
Topic: WORD SERIES …part 3.
Text : Matthew 21: 19-21

19: And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
20: And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21: Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

People say, ‘ talk is cheap ‘, this is because it is easy to say anything, but those who understands the power of words enjoys it benefits. God making the universe by his words shows how powerful words can be, Jesus drying up a fig tree by his words amazes his disciples in our passage.
Verse 20 shows they were surprised at the timing it withered, it appeared too soon to them, they knew it takes sometime for a tree to get withered normally, even the one that is hewn down from it source will take time to wither, but now this one that is still standing soon got withered, how did it happen?
They have always known that Jesus’s words are powerful, and drastic in action, but they have never seen a tree got withered that fast, it should take a while, that was their expectation, but to their uttermost surprise it was too quick, and as they were thinking it could only happen because it was Jesus that spoke, Jesus caught them in their thoughts, and gave them a shock, why did he do that? Their conclusions will be wrong, and it will have a lasting impact on them, and the people that will follow them after Jesus might have left.
And that is the problem with many people; wrong conclusions and understanding of the word of God. When a scripture is misinterpreted it power is lost.
In verse 21 Jesus made this known to them; if you can exercise faith like me, your words will move mountains, all I simply did was to exercise faith, and if you can do likewise, you will simply say unto mountains be thou moved and be cast into sea.
Some people say Jesus’s expression was figurative, but I disagree, he was actually pointing to a mountain, and that is why he said THIS MOUNTAIN, he meant they can move visible mountain the same way he dried up a visible tree, that’s how powerful our words can be when we doubt not in our heart.
Your words are cheap without faith, but with faith they have drastic effect, when you put faith to your words it becomes powerful, and it can move anything and anyone. If you must experience a turn around in your life and business, you must begin to speak to situations and circumstances by faith, they react only to words of faith, your can experience change in your life with the words of faith. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today, speak the words of faith to put things in order in your life using the name of Jesus.
