Text: John 17:12-15KJV

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

Human beings live in contention of the flesh against the spirit, the ungodly against the godly. This contention is so fierce that many are become victims and prey, lost it to the world, and the devil wins over their lives. I decree that over your life, the devil will forever be a loser in Jesus Name.
Basically the vices the devil use to contend with the lives of men on earth against their maker are summarised into three according to 1 John 2:15-17 which are:
* LUST OF THE FLESH: When in action men labour in everything to enrich the flesh while their soul tends to poverty. When in control, fasting becomes difficult for Christians and excuses to justify such becomes the order of the day. It breeds immorality, sexual urges and sexual sins, it speaks to the soul of men to do wrong things contrary to the instructions of God. If not dealt with, it can make a spiritual giant to become a weakling and can banish the soul of men forever into hell without any hope of salvation.
* LUST OF THE EYES: Being part of the flesh is a major gateway to make the flesh gets satisfaction, as the light of the body it sees and attracts things to the flesh of men. When activated, it deceives man with a notion that all that glitters is gold, it sees precious things and pleasures available in the world and would not want to lose a sight of them. It has destroyed many lives, terminate many destinies, break many homes and scatter many ministries.
* PRIDE OF LIFE: When the eye sees and the flesh desires and have it, then pride sets in. When activated, good virtues like humility, and respect are trashed into the bin, such men glory in what they have, withdraws the glory from God as they see that things are achieved by their might, strength and wisdom. It makes a man become full of himself with no regard for anyone on earth and even for God above, just like Herod in Acts 12.
Beloved from our text above, Jesus prayed for you, that God keep you away from evil while in the world, and this is the assurance that no matter the evil in this world, no matter the vices of the devil uses against the soul of men, the Almighty God will preserve and keep you for Himself in Jesus Name.
PRAYER:
* Father, as I journey through this life, keep me away from evil in Jesus Name.
