Text: Numbers 23: 20-23
20: Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
21: He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
23: Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
Effort without blessing will amount to little or no result. It is God that brings blessings upon the labour of a man, it will surprise you to know that God blesses his own works too. He knows it is not enough to work, every work or labour that will be fruitful needs pronouncement of blessing.
After God made Adam and Eve in Genesis 1: 28 ‘ And blessed them..’ after washing the earth with flood and sparing Noah and his household in Genesis 9:1 And God pronounced a blessing upon Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. Amplified. No effort of man will be fruitful without the pronouncement of blessing.
The enemies are aware of this principle and that is reason they start a fight by pronouncing curses, that is what Goliath did to David 1 Samuel 17. In our text King Balak hired Prophet Balaam to curse the Isrealites, he knew if they are cursed and the curse is effective he will conquered them, but unfortunately for him the Prophet received a commandment to bless.
It is absolutely important you understand that God uses his ministers to bless his people, the offices of Pastor, Prophet, Evangelist, Apostle and Teacher are not jokes, God recognizes these offices as roles of assignment for his men.
God does speak through his men, and if I am not sure of any other thing I am certainly sure I am one of his men, his words through my mouth has been confirmed many times, why am I sounding this way? It is because he has given me a commandment to bless.
Before I bless note verse 21 of our passage: He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel…’ the people that will receive this blessing must not have iniquity in their lives, sin has capacity to extinct blessing, sin has capacity to reverse blessing to curse.
I pronounce blessing on your life, on your business, on your family, blessed shall you be at your work place, at home, on the road, blessed is the fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, blessed shall you be when you go out and come in, blessed are the works of your hands. This season the Lord will increase you in the name of Jesus.
