Topic: HARVESTING…part 1
Text: Psalms 126: 6
6: He who goes forth bearing seed and weeping [at needing his precious supply of grain for sowing] shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
The motivation behind labour is harvest, everyone sows in expectation to reap some days, the pains of waking up early to sleep late is all in effort to get harvest, the endurance of work stress is commitment to enjoy harvest, but not everyone who labours enjoys harvest, I want to discuss in details by the spirit of the Lord, in this series of teaching reasons why people don’t enjoy harvest.
One of the major reasons is what I sharing here;
Judges 6:3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;
5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.
6: And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the Lord.
In the above passage, the Midianites did allow the Israelites to labour, they won’t stop them from labouring, they watch them clearing their ground in preparation for planting, they allow them water the seed they planted, and as the Israelites expect harvest, expecting that in couple of weeks and days they will harvest, the Midianites will come upon them suddenly to destroy their crops, what a painful experience?
Verse 5 says, ‘….they came as grasshoppers for multitude..’ they came with their cattles without number, in verse 6 the Bible says, ‘..And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites..’ The enemies will not allow Israel to harvest.
The enemy is a prominent factor in labour lost, the devil will allow you to labour hard, put time and resources into your work, but does not want you to harvest, check how much you put into a business or an investment only to get little or nothing, it is the work of the enemy, how come where other make money you lose money? If when you’re suppose to enjoy what you have laboured for something bad happens, the enemy is at work.
If after gathering certificates from good institutions you couldn’t do something viable with them, then, there are Midianites somewhere. In Judges 6:1-6 Israel was greatly impoverished not because they didn’t work, but because the Midianites will not let them enjoy their harvest. If you work hard and your result or reward does not commensurate with your labour, you need to get rid of the Midianites in your life. The Israelites prayed and God help them, you gat to pray like the Israelites.
Pray against powers and forces that want you to labour in vain. God bless you.
