Prevailing Voice Daily 10th October

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
10th October
Topic: MOVING GOD’S HAND ….part 3
Text: 1 Kings 18: 41-46
45: And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
46: And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
I don’t what to be tempted to do exposition on the hand of God here, maybe some other time, I want to bring this teaching to a close here. Permit me to say this before I move forward; PREVAILING VOICE DAILY is aimed at bringing you to the consciousness of the fact that God is not far from you, he wants to relate with you, and cares for you, in fact, it will surprise you to know that God doesn’t prefer anyone to you, I know you will want to ask; why does it appear he is closer to some people than others?
This is what happens: let me explain with this illustration; you have many friends or some friends, but few ones are closer to you than others, why? It is simply because the ones closer to you share some secrets or intimacy with you, and when you discover that anyone of them is withdrawing, you most likely take caution of what you share with such friends, in like manner, God tends to be closer to those who come closer to him, so, each of us determines how close he or she is to God, while God is always there to receive anyone not minding his past or present.
Now, when we move close to God what does he do? He comes around, relates with us, touches our lives, fix whatever is out of place, and he is always willing to do that, how do I know? Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. This is Jesus speaking in clear terms, simple enough to understand.
Apostle James in James 5:17 was trying to say, if Elijah saw God’s hand in manifestation, you can also. Let me quickly explain what God’s hand did for Elijah in 1kings 18, aside bringing down fire, causing a down pour, God demonstrated how he can give a man speed in life: verse 46 of 1 Kings 18 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Ahab was on chariot, that’s a vehicle, one of the fastest mode of transportation in those days, but Elijah ran on foot, and yet out ran Ahab, what does this means? The chariot was a support for speed, but here is Elijah without any support except God.
Maybe your life appears support-less over the years, and it has always looked like you’re on your own, no human support, financial support, educational support, and otherwise, if only you can make a push to be closer to God in act of prayer and holiness, I am not presuming, not just an attempt to encourage you, but of certainty, God’s hand will come upon your life, I am talking from experience, I have seen that hand worked many times in my life, and in the lives of others. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* As wait upon the Lord today, ask God to touch your life for transformation.
