Prevailing Voice Daily 6th October

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
6th October
Topic: THE HOME & THE SOCIETY 2
Text: Proverbs 22:6 KJV
6- Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
The society in this context is the environment around the home, one major relationship between the home and the society is influence.
Influence is the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behaviour of someone or something. The society can influence the home and the home can influence the society.
More often than not, the society influences the home negatively, some homes become broken because of the impact of the society on them. It is God that instituted marriage and not the society and so the first point of contact in running home affairs should be God. The word of God has detailed instructions on leading a peaceful and a successful home and can help to guard against negative societal influence.
Beloved, the society will always be there but we should not allow it to determine the fate, the destiny and the future of our homes, we should not permit the society to shape our family wrongly and should not allow it to determine our happiness. Don’t place your home on the scale of what happens or does not happen in other people’s homes, you need to understand that your home is your home and not theirs, what is applicable in theirs may not be suitable when you try to do same in yours.
I am not saying don’t take advice from others about your home but you’ve got to ask yourself these questions. Is the advise reasonable, constructive or destructive, and is it godly?.
Beloved, our homes are suppose to influence the society positively and not the society influencing ours negatively, but remember you cannot give what you do not have. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, make my home a blessing and not a curse to the society in Jesus Name.
