Prevailing Voice Daily 11th September

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
11th September
Topic: AT THE CROSS
Text: 1 Peter 2:24 NIV
24 He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.
The cross is very significance to our faith and to our lives as God’s children. The cross was the fulfilment of God’s purpose for man.
In the beginning, God desired a world of man ruled by Himself, He made man on earth as an extension of his kingdom, a world without sin but full of God’s glory. However, the serpent came to the first man and woman to thwart God’s plan through their act of disobedience which brought about separation of man from God. Man became slave to sin and hence a servant to sin, man lost his God given dominion, and then began to operate in fear. God made provision to restore man back to Himself in the old testament through sacrifice for sin made with the blood of animals but that still was not enough to break the power of sin in man.
The perfect solution came when Jesus Christ offered himself as a sacrificial lamb on the cross. So the cross guaranteed the freedom of man, the salvation of man and a close relationship between man and God. So God met with man at the cross and there he profer a permanent solution to issue of man.
Dearly beloved, the main significance of the cross is the blood of Jesus that was offered as a sacrifice for sin, so are you still in sin?, if yes, you have to come to the cross, because there lies the cleansing power of God.
I will conclude with this hymn
Have you been to Jesus
for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?…
God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, as I come to the cross, let sin be defeated in my life and let your purpose be fulfilled in my life.
