Prevailing Voice Daily 7th September

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
7th September
Topic: WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?
Text ; Luke 10: 29,36, 37
29: But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
36: Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37: And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
At creation God perfected all his works, he made no error in making anything. Sometimes you wonder why some people are really poor and some are rich, while some are desperately in need some live in abundance. The answer is not far fetched; he simply blesses some to bless others, a poor man is not cursed, someone has been placed around him to bless him, the problem is that his helper seems to close eyes to him needs.
Let’s take some Africa countries as case study, Africa nations are blessed with abundant resources both natural and human, but the rate of poverty is high, while their abundant resources are being squandered by few individuals.
God is fair in all his dealings, but human beings are cruel, the selfish nature of a man brings pains to his neighbors. The first point here is that God places atleast one person around the needy to help him, and when Jesus said ,’ love your neighbor as yourself ‘ what does he mean? He meant what you enjoy let your neighbor enjoy.
The second point here is this; you have been blessed to bless others, God raise you to raise others. Can I shock you? you’re not rich because you’re God’s favorites or better than others, you’re simply blessed to be a blessing. Your achievements in life is not because you were the best in school, there are many brilliant people than you, God gave you this level of breakthrough and success in life to be answers to some people’s prayer.
Let’s look at this way; it is like sharing a nation’s wealth, and the executive and legislative arms of the nation approved the sharing of money among her citizens, released to Governors, and Local Government Authority but either the Governors or Local Government chairpersons is not sharing to citizens.
God releases wealth in your hands to share, not to build an empire, how can you have so much and your neighbor’s children go hungry or out of school, how come you pay so much as your children’s school fees and your neighbor is struggling to survive. This is a clear point; God has sent every rich man to a poor man, when a rich man gives to a poor man, the poor man thanks God for the rich man, and ask God to bless him more.
Look at these scriptures Proverbs 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
If you understand these scriptures you won’t wait until the poor comes to beg, you will look for them to help, because you’re simply lending to the Lord, you will be repaid in abundance. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Help me not to close my eyes to the cry of the needy.
