Topic: A TRAVELLER….part 12
Text : 2 Samuel 12: 4
4: And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
If you have been following this teaching, you will agree with me that each part has a message to deliver. If you are going to be a good student of the bible, you need to give attention to some key words, key phrases and key sentences as you study; my attention was drawn to the word ‘ TRAVELLER ‘ in our text, and it is worthy of note because Prophet Nathan was declaring God’s mind to David, and speaking by the Spirit of God, he narrated the whole incident as entertaining the Traveller wrongly (sinfully).
Many travellers have been discussed on this platform, I am closing up this series with the Traveller, Time, in focus.
If you read through Ecclesiastes 3:1-9, the writer of the passage analyzed different types of timing, you will notice that he stated them as in words and their opposite, this is because this world offers both good and bad seasons.
Let me say in clear terms here; you can’t rule out time of challenges/ problems from this world, the reason is because heaven is the only trouble free zone, this is the reason you must ensure you make heaven. However, there is provision for a good life for every child of God. How do I know? John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Bad season in your life is temporal, it will pass, that makes it a Traveller, it is just passing by. Don’t forget that our focus has been how you treat or entertain the Traveller, it is absolutely important because it will determine how long it will stay.
Don’t develop a losing attitude at bad season, it is just a season in your life, it will pass, never you give up, but rather develop a wining attitude, tell yourself you will overcome this time. In one of those bad seasons of my life, I was trusting God for a change of season. One day, I declared fasting and prayer for a turn around, praying with a prayer partner, and as we were about praying the Holy Spirit dropped a song in my spirit, it says, ‘ this time will pass, a new one will come, just wait for the Lord ‘, within 4 days I experienced a turn around which brought a significant shift in my life.
It might shock you to know that you can redeem the time, look at it here; Ephesians 5:17 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. You can also recover lost time through prayer and planning, I don’t want to be tempted to discuss in details, I want to end this series here.
Speak against hard times in your life, decree a change of time and season. I have a specific message for someone: Your bad season is over. God bless you.
