Prevailing Voice Daily 31st August

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
31st August
Topic: A TRAVELLER ….part 9
Text: 2 Samuel 12:4
4: And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
We have examined different travellers and how they should and shouldn’t be entertained. This series has been a blessing, glory to God for revelations and inspirations, proper teaching of the word of God brings light that brightens our path in life. As God opens our eyes through his word our lives are lightened up, in this part, I want to discuss the consequences of entertaining these travellers wrongly.
The teaching centers on our reactions to feelings (temptations) and issues (problems) around our lives, how we handle our feelings and challenges. Yielding to temptations has great consequences, let’s learn from our major character of this teaching, King David.
God sent prophet Nathan to King David, and as Nathan was about to declare judgement on David for his devilish actions; sleeping with another man’s wife and killing the man, Nathan described the whole incident as entertaining a Traveller/visitor wrongly. Among many other calamities that came upon King David is this; 2 Samuel 12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; 2 Samuel 13 his son slept with his daughter, and his son killed another son of his. Absalom his son slept with his concubines openly. 2 Samuel 16:23. Sin is deadly, it consequences are great.
There are consequences for every sin, yielding to the feelings you are having for that lady that is not your wife will attract consequences, your going out with a man that is not your husband will attract great consequences, defrauding people to make money has consequences, every ungodly act has consequences.
Look at this scripture; Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked (sinners) shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. Sin attracts punishment, the pleasure of sin cannot be compared with it punishment and consequences. King David suffered some much calamities for his actions, it all began with the visit of a Traveller; lust of the eyes visited him and he ended up in bed with another man’s wife.
Please note that any kind of sin can ruin any man, desist from sin. Anger has ruined some people, greed has finished some people, lust has ruined many marriages.
Apart from sin, many have lost precious things because of their inability to handle issues and challenges well; if precious things are not properly handled, in no time they will be lost. Life will be better if we entertain these travellers as appropriate, say NO to temptations, and ask for grace to make right decisions always. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Help me to take right decisions always.
