Prevailing Voice Daily 24th August

24th August
Topic: A TRAVELLER …part 5
Text : 2 Samuel 12:4
4: And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
Jesus speaking in John 8:32 said, ‘ And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free ‘. Peripheral teachings of the word of God produce undone believers. The revelation of the word of God liberates anyone who discovers it from the yoke of the devil and of sin, every part of this teaching is a blessing just follow me with patience.
Back to A TRAVELLER in the context of sin; king David was not the only person who entertained a traveller, there were a number of them, of course you must have heard or read about the powerful Samson in Judges chapter 16, look at verse 1: Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her. He could not control his lust for women, there were travellers in his body called the Lust of the Eyes and the Lust of the Flesh, it was as if he couldn’t do without sleeping around.
His end came suddenly in verse 30: And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So Samson died with his enemies, what a terrible way to die? May you not die with your enemies in the name Jesus.
God spoke about Moses in Numbers 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) But a particular traveller in his life will not let him get to the promised Land, Anger terminated his long time dream of taking the Isrealites to the promised Land in one day.
Look at it here Numbers 27:12-14.And the Lord said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me..
This meekest man, Moses, had genuine reason to be angry, but God will not tolerate a traveller in the life of anyone that will reign with him. No man gets angry and gets happy in the end, each time you entertain anger you feel bad, anger is a traveller/visitor, if you could hold yourself for a while you will be happy you refrain from anger. How many good things have been destroyed by anger? How many destines and lives have been ruined through anger. Anger is a dangerous traveller, a little refrain from it will safe several good things.
Ecclesiastes 7:9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. Don’t entertain anger. God bless you.
* Deliver me Lord from anger.
Job 13, 2 Conrinthians 4.
