Topic: HIS DWELLING PLACE 2
Text: Isaiah 66:1KJV
1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
Apart from heaven where God made for Himself as his place of abode as stated in our text above, God does make his presence available and accessible to man here on earth. The basic reason for this is because God loves to have fellowship with man. In Genesis 2&3 when God made Adam and Eve and place them in the garden of Eden, God visited them (came to earth) everyday to have fellowship with them.
One major dwelling place of God on earth is his temple (called church or house of God). In Psalms 122:1 David said I was glad when they said unto me, let us go to the house of the Lord, Also in Psalms 27:4, he said One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. The only reason David desired the house of God was because God’s presence was there or better still God dwells there.
Therefore seeking God in his temple is not out of place, it is the right thing to do, King David was always excited to go to God’s temple and so should every man be excited when going to the house of God because of the availability of his presence.
However, worthy of note is the fact that not all temples paraded as the houses of God or churches are actually churches, some are shrines or occultic altars. It is therefore important you identity and know the genuine house of God, we shall discuss that in part 3 of this devotional topic. The only reason why shrines or occultic altar are paraded as church or God’s temple is because if it is called a shrine or occultic temple, no body will attend there. But you have to be watchful cause they are deceptive as they put everything in place to make you feel its a church or a house of God.
Dearly beloved, as I conclude, remeber to seek the Lord while (where) he may be found, call upon him while (when) he is near. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, help me to always seek you where you are (dwell) and not where you are not in Jesus Name
