Topic: HIS DWELLING PLACE
Text: Isaiah 66:1KJV
1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
In this series of teaching we want to consider the places where God dwells, where God could make his place of abode and equally where we can find Him, just as Isaiah 55:6 says “seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near. It means there are times and places where God could be found and there are times and places where he may never be found or may be difficult to get God.
Let me throw more light on the point I made from the above scriptures, some people seek God and they go to church or a solitary place to pray and of course they find God, while some others who seek help go to occultic shrines or herbalists, of course they will never find God there rather it is the devil they will meet but most times they are decieved that God is there. Though God is omnipresence and he is present everywhere but there are places where God does not dwell and he will never be accessible there.
The main dwelling place of God is heaven, God made heaven for himself, he made the earth for man and hell he made for the devil. From our scriptural text, God said he made his throne in heaven and made the earth his footstool and so when we come to access God’s throne or when we seek God in prayer, we lift up our eyes, our heart and send our prayers to heaven, that’s why David said in Psalms 121 that I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth.
So beloved, if you must seek God, you must seek him in heaven, how? Through prayer. Prayer can take us in the spirit to the presence of God in heaven to commune with God. Don’t seek God in wrong places you will never find him there, seek God where you can find him and call on him while he is near. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, help me to seek you where and when I can find you and let me never be deceived again in Jesus Name.
