Topic: THE NATURE OF MAN
Text: Romans 8:7-8KJV
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Man is a soul with a spirit and embodied in a body, so this makes the nature of man to be in two categories, the nature of man in the flesh and the nature of man in the spirit. First we shall consider the nature of man in the flesh.
A man in the flesh also known as a carnal man has the nature of sin which is the nature of the devil, in other words, so long any man operates in the flesh, no matter who he/she is, the nature of such tends towards the nature of the devil which is sin. That’s why our text above says a carnal mind is an enemy of God because he does not subject to the instructions of God and he cannot please God. 
The sinful nature of man thwart the original plan of God for man from the garden of Eden, in Genesis 3, when Adam (first man) and Eve (first woman) were deceived by the serpent, the following happened to the generation of man;

• Man became naked
• Man lost God’s glory
• Man lost the beautiful world of Eden as God cast them out to a world where darkness abode
• The earth was curse for man’s sake
• Woman began to travail (labour) before she can give birth
• Man began to till the ground (work hard and sweat) before he can eat
• Man became mindful of good and bad things of life
• The imagination of man, became evil continually Genesis 6:5

The sinful nature of man in the flesh include the wickedness perpetrated by man on the earth which has made the world a place of battle, struggle, war, survival of the fittest e.t.c We are all witnesses to the wickedness going on all over the nations of the world, terrorist bombing, religious killings, children molestation, oppression of fellow men, corruption, sexual immoralities, drug abuse, child and women abuse, broken homes and marriages, ritual killings e.t.c
Beloved, a carnal man can never please God (Roman 8:8), he cannot understand God (1 Corinthians 2:14), and the end result of the nature of a carnal man is death. Romans 8:6
says to be carnally minded is death. The only solution to this nature of death is to embrace the salvation of God through Jesus Christ (1st John 3:9). God bless you.

* Father, take away the nature of sin from me and fill me with your spirit in Jesus Name.
