Prevailing Voice Daily 10th August

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
10th August
Topic: WHILE MEN SLEPT…(part 5)
Text:. Matthew 13:25
25: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Jesus speaking in Mark 12:24 said; Is not this where you wander out of the way and go wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God? Amplified. Straying away is inevitable when one does not have proper understanding of the scriptures, this is the reason we give detailed teaching on this platform as the Holy Spirit permits.
Each part of this teaching has been a blessing to many people, in this part 5, the focus is how to stay awake, I discussed just prayer in part 1, here I am sharing more points in addition to prayer, let me come out this way; an athlete cannot sleep while running, a footballer cannot doss on the field of play, now look at this scripture: Hebrews 12:2 ..let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Take note of the sentence ‘ let us run with patience the race that is set before us ‘, the first thing every follower of Christ must know is that his or her Christian Life is a race, we are running, not walking, not sitting, not lying, our journey on Earth is a race, not because we’re competing but because we gat to be smart, just like you wake early to prepare for work to ensure you’re not late.
Let me give you scriptures to back what I am saying here: Amos 6:1 Woe to those who are at ease in Zion and to those on the mountain of Samaria who are careless and feel secure…Amp.
1 Corinthians 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
I can give you more scriptures but for space, this journey is a race, so everyone who must make it in the end MUST KEEP RUNNING.
Running away from sin: keep eyes from those ladies you meet at work since you’re married, and even if you’re not, keep your eyes away from that rich married man or probably single if he has not proposed to you.
Running with patience; be patience with God, don’t force things to happen, be patience in the spirit to hear from the Holy Spirit, don’t rush out without studying God’s word (Bible), it is your guide for each day.
Running with the kingdom flag: preach this Gospel, raise men and women, young and old into the kingdom by your lifestyle.
Always remember that the Christian Life is a race, I am an athlete, I must not sleep (spiritually), I must run with patience. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Keep me burning Lord me with the fire of the Holy Spirit.
