PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
7th August. 
Topic: THE NATURE OF THE DEVIL
Text: 1 John 3:8 KJV
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Jus like God, the devil also has its nature. We defined nature as the basic character or quality of a thing. The primary nature, character or quality of the devil is sin.
SIN given the acronyms as Satan Identification Number originated from the devil, Satan, the devil was the first to commit sin and it was a sin he never repented from. Our text above stated it clearly that the devil sinned from the beginning, and that anyone who sins is of the devil meaning the person carries satan’s identity. The root of sin is devil.
Isaiah 14, recorded how God created Satan as an Arch angel and was given a beautiful name as the son of the morning, he was highly exalted in heaven as it was said that he was the head of the angelic choir who made great melody of songs in heaven, intoxicated by his profile and exalted position, he became proud and thought he could overthrow God and become the Almighty God Himself. Imagine how a creature thought he could suddenly become the creator (God Almighty), and because of that sin of pride was found in Satan, heaven could no longer contain him along with a third of the angels whom he deceived, and since then sinners have no place in heaven, the devil was cast down to earth and was condemned to hell fire.
Beloved, there was no repentance for the devil, Satan was condemned to death, and sin became his very nature, his mission and the very purpose he is in existence till God would finally judge him. Therefore as stated in our text that he who commits sin is of the devil, that is anyone who lives in sin is a property of the devil and would certainly end where the devil will end if such person will not repent.
As I conclude, God made provision for us to be free from the nature of sin, and that is available only in Christ Jesus. Our text says the son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil (sin). So beloved, repent from sin, accept Jesus as your saviour and put on the nature of God. God bless you.

* Father, deliver me from the nature of sin and remove this satanic identification from my life in Jesus Name
* Father, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour today, and let there be no condemnation for me in Jesus Name
