29th July
Topic: WORTHY OF PRAISE
Text : 2 Samuel 22:3-4
3: The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
4: I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Praise is birthed by one’s action, praise is not awarded but earned by one’s action. No one is praised for what he has not or cannot do, so, something worthy of note here is that action precedes praise, it is a product of one’s action, in other words we can say your action determines whether you’re worthy of praise or not.
No institution gives prize to a non performance student, an average student is not praised either. My dad, trying to imbibe excellence in me, made me weep the day I took 4th position in school, 3rd position and 2nd position wouldn’t make sense to him either, because he knew only the first is worthy of praise, while others get smaller honour.
A man can also be praised when he makes promise to perform excellently if his track record prove that he will deliver, God, from generations passed, has proved excellent in his acts and deeds, and while we praise him for what he has done in the past, we also praise him for what he will do in time to come.
We can’t praise him enough, and the reason is simply because he gave us everything we have today, he has seen us through the challenges of the past, and brought us to the level we are in life today, God does what he wills, and though he can’t be questioned for any of his actions he does treat us with respect, just as a father relate with his children.
When a nobody is made somebody he shouldn’t forget the person that made his somebody in life, the person who brings him to honour is worthy of praise, God made of us from dust (sand), put his Spirit in us and watches over us day and night, and in the end we will reign with him forever.
Our God is worthy of praise in all ramifications, let’s give him the glory that is due to his name, PRAISE is all he wants for us, and we ought to give him the best of it. HE IS WORTHY OF OUR PRAISE.
Let’s praise him for bringing us to the end of the 7th month in the year 2018. Do you know what? As we praise him he is moved to do more for us. God bless you.
