Topic: PLEASURES FOREVERMORE
Text : Psalms 16: 11.
11: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Life is characterized with pressure and pleasure, at any point in life you experience any of the two. Of course everyone wants pleasure but the dealings of life deprive many of it, as we go through life we all tend to work towards a time of pleasure, your daily hustle tends towards achieving pleasure in the long run.
Money, as enticing it is, cannot bring you lasting pleasure, of course by now you should know that there are some things money cannot buy, but the good news is this; just as every manufacturer provides Manual for it product, so did God, the author of life has a Manual for our lives, the manual is THE BIBLE, you find life therein, you get comfort through the word of God.
A man who was addicted to God’s presence, the writer of the book of psalms, spoke in clear terms in our passage today, he started by saying, ‘ thou will show me the path of life, and ended this verse by saying, ‘ ….at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore ‘, this means a lot, let me try to explain.
You will notice that the Psalmist didn’t just say, ‘ at your hand ‘, or ‘ at your left hand, if read the book of Psalms very well you will observe that the Psalmist mentioned ‘ right hand ‘ many times, let me just pick one of them, Psalms 80:17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. You will notice ‘ the man of thy right hand ‘, Jesus speaking in Matthew 25:33 he said, ‘ And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Notice this: the sheep, the saved souls, the believers, the obedience Christians will be set at his right hand, and the goats, rebellious people, stubborn souls, people that will not obey the word of God, people that will not submit to the will of God shall be set at his left hand.
It is therefore means that as God watches over the universe, he divides everyone into 2 classes, believers (sheep) at his right hand side, sinners (goats) on the left hand side, you choose where you belong by your decisions. Ask yourself; where do I belong?
Those at his right hand are assured of pleasure forevermore, that is pleasure here on earth and in heaven. Now as we stay with God, he continually brings pleasure into our lives, it is important you know and determine in your heart that ‘ I must not be tired of God’s presence, that is the place to get pleasure, if you must overcome the pressure of this world, the ups and downs of life you must continually stay in his presence.
It is our duty every morning of everyday to stay in his presence, quiet time, that is how to get the pleasure of each day. God bless you.
