PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
18th July (SPECTACULAR ACTS: DAY 17)
Topic: RETURNING WITH PRAISE.
Text: 1 Samuel 1:11-28
11: And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
20: Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord.
24: And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the Lord in Shiloh: and the child was young.
28: Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.
This is a popular story in the bible but remains relevant for all ages, vital lessons generation upon generation learn from this passage of the bible.

• First, Hannah made her request known in prayer, she wasn’t complaining or doubtful, she was persistent in prayer for many years.
• Second, she made a covenant with God, to give back to God if he gives her a boy. God can’t trust some people with riches because they will derail.
• Third, she weaned the baby, that is, she cherished what God gave her, she wasn’t careless about the gift, some people easily forget the pains they went through when they are desperately in need of something, they feel like; so it is this easy, she didn’t go to Shiloh until she was done weaning the baby.
  • Fourth, She returned with praise, she came with sacrifice of praise.
• Fifth, she fulfilled her promised to God.

I trust God, he rewards those who are loyal to him, see what he did in 1Samuel 2:21 And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the Lord.
One important lesson to learn here is this: as God answers our prayers we are suppose to draw closer to him not to run away when we get what we need, God still have so much more blessings to release but we can’t get them except we draw closer. God bless you.
