Text : Acts 12:1-11
7: And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
10: When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street..’
I thought I was done with PASSING THROUGH until the Holy Spirit ministered to me to speak on BREAKTHROUGH, breakthrough and pass through have similar dictionary meaning.
Let’s quickly pick the points here;
* In verse 7 of our passage Peter’s chains fell off his hands, that is BREAK LOSE, now listen; breakthrough is removing of barriers, but tell me when a man is bound hands and legs while his barriers are removed, he still won’t experience breakthrough until his chains are broken lose, sometimes doors are opened for a man but himself is bound that he can’t enter the open doors. This day I decree by the Spirit of the Lord; your chains are broken in the name of Jesus.
Whatever keeps your feet at a point is destroyed in the name of Jesus, I set your hands free from every form of spiritual hand cuffs in the name of Jesus.
- The second point also in verse 10: When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; the passed first and second ward easily because there weren’t gates, listen to this: the enemy may allow you go a little distance, like first and second ward, but there is a always AN IRON GATE THAT LEADS TO THE CITY; Now what is the definition of the city here, in comparison to village, a city is a place where you have luxury.
Your city is a place where your effort will be recognized, it is a place where things happen, let me put it this way; it is your happening place, where your glory will shine. This scripture shed light on this: Ecclesiastes 10:15 The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.
A fool is a man who labours but is effort is ends in the village, he does not get reward for his labour, he works hard but he has no value for his labour. So Peter exit the prison to enter into the city; do you know what? The sick were already waiting for him, there is no way he could demonstrate anointing in the prison. Take note of this also in verse 10 ‘…the iron gate that leadeth unto the city… opened to them of his own accord…’ I decree in name of Jesus your iron gate shall open of it own accord. This prophetic release is meant to bring someone into his city, you’re coming out of where the enemy has hidden you in name of Jesus.
