PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
28th June
Topic: BY THE RIVERS (WATERS)
Part 2
Text: Exodus 15:23-25KJV
23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
And
Generally, water signifies quench of thirst, coolness from torment of heat e.t.c Therefore to be by a river side is a good thing. Even Psalms 1:3 says a blessed man shall be like a tree planted by the river side, whose leaves does not wither… However, not all water are good to drink from, one of such waters with significance in the scriptures are the waters of Marah.
From our text above, waters of Marah are bitter waters, though the Israelites were so thirsty being in search of water to drink for three days before they saw Marah waters but yet they did not dare to drink, because the waters were just too bitter. Thank God for Moses who cried unto God on Israel’s behalf before God healed the waters of Marah. I pray for you that God by His mercies will heal every waters of Marah (bitterness) in your life in Jesus Name.
A popular story of the woman, Naomi, comes to mind when talking about the waters of Marah.
In Ruth 1-4, Naomi left her native land to another land because of famine, she went with her husband and her two sons but when she returned, she returned with nothing. While in a strange land, Naomi lost her husband and her two sons, she went happy but returned sorrowful, she went with her family, but returned basically alone, and when people called her Naomi, she said she should be called Marah.
Beloved, many lives drink from the well of Marah, many circumstances in many lives are nothing but bitterness, I pray you will not drink from the waters of Marah in Jesus Name. Every good journey or project you embark upon in life, will not turn into emptiness in Jesus Name. God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, there shall be no bitterness in my life in Jesus Name.

  • Pray, God heals your home of any kind of bitterness.
