Topic: PASSING THROUGH…( part 2 )
Text : Deuteronomy 6:5
5:And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
We started this series on Friday and the emphasis was how we pass through this world, not what you pass through but how you pass through, and I did say that how you pass through this world determines where you spend eternity either hell or heaven.
Let’s focus on how God wants us to pass through this world; why should we focus on this? Because our lives are loaned to us by God, though he does not compel us to live in a particular way, but we will all give account of how we live our lives to him when we leave this world.
God expects us but not compels us to live in a particular way, it is like when a businessman approaches a bank for loan, of course the bank expects him to finance his business with the loan and not spend the money on luxury, if he does spend the money on luxury he will definitely have himself to blame.
Our lives are loaned to us by God, and expects us to live in a particular way, how he wants us to live is expressed in clear terms in our passage. It is a passage of the scriptures where Moses was declaring God’s mind to the Israelites just as I am declaring to you here; look at it here; And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
How should you pass through this world? LOVE GOD.
How should you love God?
Love him with all your heart…
Love him with all your soul….
Love him with all your might…
By heart he means genuinely, sincerely, passionately, ready to do anything for him.
By soul he meant with your whole being, your life, your existence.
By might he meant with your strength, energy, and power.
This is like giving back to him what he has given you, being unable to live without him.
This is being God conscious, living for God, committed to his will and purpose. Serving him and encouraging others to do. By doing so your life will bring him profits just as the bank expects the businessman to make profits with the loan given.
It is wise to be committed to this course as you pass through this world. Always remember, you can’t be here forever, you’re just passing through. God bless you.
