Topic: THE LIGHT OF LIFE
Text: John 8:12 KJV
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
From the statement of Jesus above, we could deduce that as there is light in the world, there is also darkness in the world. Isaiah 60:2 affirmed this, it says “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people…”. There are two things I will like to explain in today’s topic which are walking in darkness and walking into darkness.
” Walking in darkness: This is a critical case of a man who is living in perpetual darkness, basically characterised by sin and refusal to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour. Such a life operates under total darkness with no experience of light at all,
it is a life paraded easily by the operations and afflictions of darkness. If you are in such category, the only solution is to accept Jesus Christ who is the light of the world as Lord and saviour.
- Walking into darkness: This is a case of man who is not living in darkness but occasionally walks into darkness. As God’s children, we sometimes walk into darkness or find ourselves battling with the dark situations of life like troubles, problems, challenges e.t.c Most times we walk into those dark situations as a result of disobedience to God, or insentivity to the leading of the Holy spirit.
You are child of light and so you are not meant to walking in darkness or walk into darkness, therefore it’s important to be obedient to God’s instruction, be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and above all pray constantly that you will not walk into the darkness of the day. Understand that as there is day (light) and night (darkness) everyday, likewise each day spiritually are filled with circumstances of light and darkness but I decree that you will not walk into darkness everyday of your life in Jesus Name.
PRAYER:
* Father, I decree into my life today, that I will not walk into darkness in Jesus Name.
