6th June
Topic: TOUCHING THE SAVIOR
Text: Mark 5: 27-34
27: When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28: For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29: And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30: And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
Issues beyond the human, scientific, medical and human intellect require attention of the savior, sometimes we face issues beyond our control, people around can’t help either.
The character in our passage had spent all that she had without getting solution to her problem, she was identified by her problem to the point that she was named by the problem, her name was not known. Sometimes the enemy brings one to a point the problem becomes a name for the person.
You will observe that some people find it easy to describe one by his or her problem, description like; that man that is always begging, that woman that is always sick, that man That is always owing, that stammerer, that ugly woman, the woman that doesn’t smile, so the woman was called ‘ the woman with the issue of blood ‘, my prayer is that every issue that people has identify you with will be taking care of in the name of Jesus.
This woman had never seen Jesus, she only heard about him, but she knew that if Jesus could heal the sick, raise the dead, make the blind see, then her own constant follow of blood will seize if only she could touch his garment. She new that if Jesus resolve other people’s issues why won’t he resolve her own issue.
That is one point that must be registered in our mind; If God answers other people, why won’t he answer me? What a simple way to trust God? Can I shook you? Do you know God once answered the devil’s prayer? Read Job 1:1-12, so if he could answer the devil why won’t he answer your prayer.
The first step to touching God is to believe that God will answer you, that must be settled within you first, that woman resolve that in her mind even before she met Jesus; she said, they said this Jesus does big big miracles then I just need to touch his garment and I will be made whole, so she made up her mind to touched Jesus despite the crowd.
The touch was simply a demonstration of her faith, everyone had disappointed her but her faith in the savior was not disappointed, she didn’t lose faith when she had reasons to do so, if you must touch God you must not lose faith no matter what. This women in question had gone to zero level but she rose as hero by her faith in the savior. Your faith will change your story, your level, your name, your status. You are not far from a turn around if only you will not lose your faith. God bless you.
