Topic: WHEN MEN LOSE TOUCH WITH GOD.
Text : 2 Chronicles 26: 16-19
16: But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
18: And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God.
19: Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.
King Uzziah could not be stopped from prospering as long as he sought God, that was the point of discussion on 30th of May, but when he lost touch with God, he lost it all; he lost his right to live among people let alone rule the people.
A sick person can be healed if he is in contact with a good doctor, your car can be fixed when you have good mechanic around, likewise life issues can be fixed when you’re in touch with the author of life. One valid point anyone must never forget is this; seeking God is not an option, there mustn’t be alternative to seeking God.
Another valid point is this; God is not to be sought only when there is problem, God should and must be sought always, the reason is this; there is so much to our lives and that can only be discover in God because he is the author of life.
Losing touch with God is getting weary to serve God, getting weary to pray, to study your bible, fasting and prayer then becomes a challenge. This is a point you find it difficult to be obedient to God’s word, at this point the enemy will take advantage of your weakness and strike.
Losing touch with God reflects on business, family, finance, at this point you lose opportunities easily, one will experience defeat at the verge of breakthrough. It is a point you can’t explain why things are not going well; the enemy finds it easy to attack a man when he loses touch with God.
Church is a place where people should have touch with God, but when the leadership of the church loses touch with God there is a problem, a church that has lost touch with God will do all manners of things to bring people to church, bring comedians to the pulpit, allows indecent dressings to attract youths and men, when a Pastor of a church can’t hear God it is sign that he has lost touch with God. You can’t get God’s touch in such church.
Get yourself revived, ask God to restore revival fire into your life. Look at this: Hosea 6:1,2 Come, and let us return unto the Lord…After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
