Topic: ATMOSPHERE OF BLESSING
Text: Psalms 122:1
1: I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
Treasures are not found anyhow, you don’t get them by chances. Precious things are sought for, no one becomes a success by mistake or luck, check every successful man or woman he or she must have sought for success.
An effortless life can’t make significant progress in life, when your effort receives God’s blessing it results in great achievement for you. It is important you know that not everywhere is blessed, there are atmospheres of blessing. You don’t believe that? See Jacob’s experience in Genesis 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. 16: And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.
It is important to know that God’s presence is the place of blessing, any gathering that attracts God’s presence creates an atmosphere of blessing. You can’t just fold your alms and doing nothing and saying, ‘ I know one day God will visit me ‘, have you created an atmosphere for visitation?
Often times we prefer a place of fun, atmosphere of comedy, party, ceremony to a place of worshipping God, such events entertain our flesh, they can’t transform your life. Our lives are made in God’s presence, no wonder the Psalmist said in our passage, I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. That is where his life was transformed, he use to be a shepherd in the forest but one day he was needed in the palace.
King David of Israel became a great man in history because of his long time ambition, look at it in Psalms 27:4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
One thing you can’t take from the Psalmist, I mean king David, the presence of the Lord, the house of the Lord, the temple of the Lord. It was a lifestyle for him to dwell in Gods presence, no wonder his life was made what it was, he became a great man in history, the savior, Jesus, came through his lineage.
Worries and anxieties are handled in God’s presence, mountains crash and crumble in his presence, impossibility becomes possible in his presence, whatever kind of blessing you want you get in his presence. Life would have been something else for me if not for his presence, I am talking from experience.
