Topic: THE BROKEN WALLS
Text: Nehemiah 1:1-11KJV
3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven.
Every city is surrounded by walls, nations have boundaries heavily guarded by armed securities, all these are basically to protect and prevent intruders, strangers or enemies from gaining easy access into the cities or nations. God sees a home as a city and as a nation, likewise the devil sees any home as a nation, it therefore means if God blesses a family or a home, to Him, He has blessed a nation, in like manner, if devil attacks or destroys a family, he has destroyed a nation. This implies every home is very important and paramount in the hand of God, no wonder the scriptures says what God has joined together let no man put asunder.
Now when we understand that a home or a family is a nation, it means it has walls surrounding it and boundaries which must be kept secured against intruders (home breakers), stranger s(strange men and women) and the enemies (including the devil). Now as much as your home is a priority to God, it is also a priority to the devil as such you must do everything to keep your home far way from the devil’s reach.
From our text above, the city of Jerusalem was in great reproach and her people in great affliction simply because the city wall was broken and the gates were burnt, so it is with any home or family with a broken wall. Since the home is a high target to the devil, he does everything to pull down the walls surrounding the home e.g the wall of unity, wall of love e.t.c, therefore we must be on the watch against the devil’s antics and tricks.
As I conclude there is one scripture I want you to hold on to, that is Ephesians 4:27 which says “Neither give place to the devil”, beloved, in every way, by every parameters and by every means do not give the devil a single space in your family because if you give him a little space, he will not stop in the allowed space until he has taken the whole of your home to fulfill his ministry which is to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10). God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, by your mercy restore the broken walls around my home in Jesus Name.
* Father, my home will not be the devil’s base to fulfill his ministry in Jesus Name.
* Father, every space the intruders, the strangers and devil himself has occupied in my family, by your fire, I chase them out in Jesus Name.
