PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
9th May
Topic: FAITH REALM ( part 4 )
Text : Isaiah 38:1-5
1: In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
2: Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,
3: And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
It is good to have detailed knowledge of a subject matter in the bible. Still on Faith Realm, in part 1 to 3, we learnt certain things about this topic, here I will be sharing another salient point.
Here is a story of a man who God pronounced his death sentence, not Satan but God himself, in verse 1 of our passage: ‘..Hezekiah was sick unto death..’
There are 2 things to note here; 1, ‘ sick unto death ‘ means by sight, looking at Hezekiah physically he is dying, all the physicians (doctors) of his days confirmed that the sickness is unto death, remember he was a king, he had access to the best physicians in and outside his domain.
2, An anointed man of God also pronounced his death, that means God approve of his death, by spiritual standard he is suppose to die. Hezekiah should have just tidied up his home, and died, but he didn’t do that, he rather switch on to faith realm to reverse the death sentence.
Let’s try to analyze the prayer of King Hezekiah; in verse 3 of our passage ‘ And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight…’ ‘ how I have walked before thee in truth ‘, faith is a walk with God, not just praying to God, your walk with God is part of your faith in God.
Hezekiah was saying ‘ lord, I have been walking with you for sometime now, I have not turned from serving you ‘. You will notice that God didn’t argue that, it mean Hezekiah has truly been walking uprightly with God, his ways were not zigzag, God remembered Hezekiah’s commitment to Him and postponed his death.
People die suddenly, but Hezekiah’s case was not like that, he walked with God to the point that God wouldn’t allow him die without his notice, what a way to die? Look at verse 1 ‘.. Thus says the Lord: Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live ‘. Note the sentence ‘ set your house in order ‘, he had all opportunities to make heaven because of his walk with God, even after praying God told him in 15 years time.
Beloved, an integral part of your faith is your walk with God, it is not just your trusting God to make the impossibility possible, walking with God as a role to play in receiving answers to Prayers. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today ask God to reverse every pronouncement that does not favour your life.
* Ask for grace to walk perfectly with God.
