Text : Proverbs 4:2,20-22
2:For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
20: My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21: Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22:For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Glory to God who gives us insight into His word, we are pencils in His hands, people keep asking how we write PREVAILING VOICE DAILY, we basically wait on the Holy Spirit, and you can be sure that when He speaks great will be the impact, that is the reason PVD keeps touching lives in different parts of the world.
Still discussing the soul of man, the emphasis on Friday was nourishing your soul, and I told you where to get balance diet for your soul, that is, the restaurant for your soul, here I am sharing the balance diet itself.
The writer of our text is King Solomon, remember on Friday I laid emphasis on the words of the Psalmist, King David, now hear what King Solomon said in Proverbs 4:3,4 When I [Solomon] was a son with my father [David], tender and the only son in the sight of my mother [Bathsheba], He taught me and said to me, Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments and live.
Do you know what Solomon was saying here? As my father ( David, the Psalmist ) taught me, so do I teach you, it was the Psalmist that taught us on Friday that God’s presence is the restaurant for our souls. Solomon goes further to tell us; my father David taught me that what can bring health to my soul is good doctrine, the word of God.
Look at Proverbs 4:22: For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Those who study and find these words, God’s words, sound biblical teachings, good doctrines, not heresies, revelational teachings like PREVAILING VOICE DAILY, will find life, and have health in their flesh; this means these sound teachings can heal sicknesses and diseases.
Let’s hear the experience of Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 3:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. The scroll is like a book on it the word of God is written (bible), as he ate it, it was as honey in his mouth.
Hear what Job said in Job 23:12 …I have esteemed and treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
You want to say no reference from new testament, Jesus speaking Matthew 4:4 …Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Do you know what He meant? No man can succeed in life by food alone, but by God’s word. Don’t play with God’s word, TREASURE IT like Job, that is what you need to be fulfilled in life. God bless you.
