Topic: THE SOUL
Text: Genesis 2:7
7: And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
You find the scriptures interesting when the Holy Spirit expands it in your heart. We learnt so much from the series, ‘ thou art dust ‘, it is also important we learn about the soul of man, I concluded that series by making emphasis on the content.
Let me start here by saying that your body is like clothes you wear, just as you put off your clothes a day is coming you will definitely put off your body. Your soul will put on an immortal body, what we all carry now, that is our present body, is mortal.
Immortal is defined , not subject to death, the soul of man itself is immortal, it is not subject to death, look at this scripture 1 Corinthians 15:53 For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us, this nature that is capable of dying] must put on immortality (freedom from death). Amplified.
When a man dies his mortal body leaves him, God is particular about the soul of man, likewise the devil, the lifespan of a man on earth is insignificant in the lifespan of the soul.
The mind is the gateway to the soul of man, you make decisions about your life in your mind. Mind is defined as the seat of the faculty of reason, it is responsible for your thoughts and feelings. Decisions taken in the mind affect your soul, You always make up your mind on something before you take action, your decision can either nourish your soul or destroy it, when the mind is defiled, your soul will be defiled.
Let me define the soul here as your being, God recognizes and relates with our souls. When Adam was made God recognized him as a living soul, God punishes the sinful soul, and prospers the faithful soul. This scripture clears the air here; Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. ( second death. Revelation 20:14,15 )
You must also understand that the devil battles for your soul, the challenges and temptations around you are signs of battle for your soul, it is important you give all diligence to keep your soul from hell.
HOW DO I KEEP MY SOUL? Since the mind is the gateway to the soul, it is important you feed your mind right, watch your decisions, one important decision you must make is the decision to accept Jesus as your lord and savior, that is the very point of salvation to your soul. Ensure your mind is not corrupt, flee immoral conversations. If you do not lose your mind, the enemy can’t have a way into your life. Say no to the devil, say no to sin, say no to temptations. Even if you lose all, don’t lose your mind it is the key to your soul. God bless you.
