Topic: THE FATHER’S BLESSING 2

Deuteronomy 33:1-29 KJV
1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
6 Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.
7 And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.
8 And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
There are three kinds of fathers who have right and authority to bless their children, not only to bless but also have authority to curse their children. The first category we considered last week were biological fathers.
The second kind of father is the spiritual father. A spiritual father is the one whom God has placed as a head over you spiritually, he is the one whom under his anointing you are feeding and being nurtured spiritually. It is important to note that your spiritual father has the right or authority to bless and curse you. Just like I said last week that when you make your parents happy it provokes blessings from their spirit but when you make them bitter, suffer, sorrowful or you cause them pain it provokes curses from their spirit.
From our text above, Moses was a spiritual father to Israel and at this particular point before his death, he blessed the children of Israel, more important to note was the blessings he released upon Reuben and his generations, who was cursed by Jacob his biological father (Genesis 49:1-40). Moses as a spiritual father to Reuben reversed the curse that Jacob his biological father placed upon him and his generations. So if you are suffering under any curse from your biological parents, your spiritual father in Christ can lift the curse, however this is not a license to dishonour your biological parents thereby provoking curses from them instead of blessings.
In Joshua 6:26, After Jericho’s wall was miraculously pulled down for the Israelites, Joshua their spiritual father who took over after Moses’ death pronounced a curse upon anyone who rebuilt the broken walls of Jericho. He said such a man would lay the foundation with the death of his first son and mount the gates with the death of his last son, and it was so exactly as Joshua pronounced the curse as recorded in 1 Kings 16:34.
Dearly all, especially children and youths, do everything godly to make your spiritual father happy because it is one sure way to provoke their spirit and anointing to bless you and avoid doing otherwise, I tell you the truth that path (of provoking curses) is very dangerous. God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, help me to provoke blessings from my spiritual father and not curses in Jesus Name.
