Topic: ‘…. FOR THOU ART DUST..’ ( part 2 )
Text: Genesis 3:19
19: In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
In part 1 the emphasis was the reality of the statement, here I want to focus on THE PURPOSE OF MAKING AN IMAGE FROM DUST, I trust God to give you understanding. Let me start this way: have you ever thought of it that no other creature was molded from dust except man?
Angels were not molded likewise animals, only man was molded from dust, look at it in Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. There were other living beings before man, none of them was molded, they were all commanded into existence.
Only man was created in a unique way, look at Genesis 1:26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. ( Amplified version ).
I see God saying, ‘ I am about to make a unique being, I want us to carefully create an image that will have our nature, I want us to have an image that we can always look and say this one represents us. He will exercise dominion like us. How do you feel when your Child looks like you? Some of us want a drawing of ourselves, some want the statute of themselves, it simply brings them joy, self pride, glory, when you look at an image that looks like you, you will say,’ oh that’s me ‘.
How do you feel when someone tells you, ‘ there is someone that looks so much like you?’ Of course you will be curious to meet the person. The excitement you get when you meet someone that looks like you or you see a beautiful picture of yourself is the excitement and satisfaction God was intended to derive through man.
He basically wants to take glory through our lives, for instance: He was proud ofJob, hear what He told devil about Job in Job 1:8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
That is basically His aim of creating man, someone that will bring Him glory through his lifestyle, God was proud of Job, Job actually brought out His nature: holiness and righteousness, Brother Job brought Him glory through his lifestyle, that is exactly what God wants from us. We are all are carefully molded to bring Him glory, how you feel when your child do well in school, and brings you glory, that is exactly how God feels when our lives glorify Him.
It is absolutely important you and I remember always: I am carefully constructed ( molded ) to bring Him glory. My life must glorify God. God bless you.
* Lord help me to live my life to glorify you.
