Prevailing Voice Daily 13th April

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
13th April
Topic: ‘… FOR THOU ART DUST..’ ( part 1 )
Text: Genesis 3:19
19: In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
This statement was made by God to Adam the first man, I don’t want to major on what warranted the statement but to bring us to the consciousness of the reality of the statement.
In every man is ego, self pride, especially those who have achieved some things in life. One major danger of success is pride, that is the sin of Lucifer ( Satan ), I just want to expatiate the phrase ‘ for thou art dust ‘. God was telling Adam that without me you’re nothing, my breathe in you makes you something.
Let’s check how Adam was made, that is to mean how we all are made, molded from dust, sand, we all must have molded something in time past as children, that image molded can’t talk, can’t move, can’t live, that is how Adam was after being molded, he was immobile, lifeless, he remains where he was molded, couldn’t change position.
God released breathe into him and he suddenly got life, so how can he say he has a life? His life is the breathe of God upon him, he remains invalid without God’s breathe, Adam soon forgot that he was mere dust, how many times have we forgotten that we all are mere dust? We lost consciousness so soon, how many times have you told people, ‘ do you know who I am? The simple answer is that you are dust.
The ego in man makes him feel he has power of his own, sometimes we all get to that point especially when people provoke us to do so, but it is absolutely important we remind ourselves, ‘ we are dust ‘, how can mere dust live life successfully by his own power? Understanding this phrase brings us to absolute surrendering to God.
Adam pushed God to remind him that he is mere dust, God wouldn’t have loved to do that, God honors man, how do I know? Psalm 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. But when a man feels he is something and he can make himself he will be reminded by God that he is mere dust.
He reminded Nebuchadnezzar, King Herod was reminded that he was mere dust in Acts 12:21-23, Pharoah was reminded that he was mere dust. It is important we place a check on our lives, the consciousness that we are dust and that God’s breathe upon us brings us life must not leave us. We are nothing without Him, He was and is and will be without us, but we can’t live a second without Him. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Just surrender all to Him today.
* Give Him glory for what you have and who you are.
