Topic: VICTORY OVER SIN
Text: Romans 6:14 KJV
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
SIN given an acronyms as Satan Identification Number is the principal tool in the hand of the devil against any man, in fact sin made Satan to become devil and evil (Isaiah 14:12-19), so anyone who commits sin, the bible says such is of the devil (1 John 3:8a), which affirmed that its Satan identity in a man. Since the devil sinned in the beginning, the power and the hold of sin has been a major problem to God and to man.
The sin of man which began from the first man, Adam was a problem to the original plan of God for the man, and so sin broke the cordial relationship between God and man, it separated man from God, and the sin and wickedness of man multiply so great that God decided at a point to destroy earth and her unrepentant sinners with water in the days of Noah (see Genesis 6:5&7 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them).
Even after the flood, the root of sin in men is not destroyed, then God made a temporary provision to atoned for sin by the blood of animals in the old testament. The blood of the lamb was still not perfect to deal with sin, then God made a one time and a perfect provision to destroy the power of sin in man through the cleansing by the blood of Jesus Christ, which means sin cannot withstand the power in the blood of Jesus (Romans 6:23).
Jesus Christ died, shed His blood for the remission of the sins of the world, and offer salvation for all who believe and accept Him as their Lord and Saviour. Titus 2:11 says “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men”, What a grace! So in Christ we have victory over sin, In Hi. we receive the grace to have dominion over sin as written in our text above.
Dearly beloved, contrary to the worldly opinion that no man can live above sin, you can, remember the just shall live by faith (Galatians 3:11). The grace is available in Christ just cling to Him. God bless you.
