Topic: VICTORY IN LIFE
Text: Job 14:1,2
1: Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
2: He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
Occasionally we wonder why we go through things, Job has answer for us in our passage today, the days of a every man are few, man can’t live on this earth forever, and these days are not without challenges, as long as a man lives he keeps facing challenges, but the good news is that there is provision for victory.
Though victory is made available yet a good percentage of people live in defeat. Let me say this first of all that no one is exempted from battle, no man is free from challenges no matter the grace he carries, but the grace of God upon a man makes him victorious at all times.
Challenges and troubles in life are clear indications that we aren’t in our final destination, we are on a journey to our home, eternity rest, and of course you will agree with me that you can’t get all comfort in a strange land except your home, but however we are meant to be victorious over every challenge of life, it is like a man journeying through thick forest where there are wild animals, of course the animals won’t let him pass without challenging him.
The wild animals of our world are demons, they are on mission to challenge everyone, but the maker empowers His own to subdue them. Note the phrase ‘ HIS OWN ‘, those who are born again, if you’re not born again you are far from victory, if you have not given your life to Christ these demons can and will devour you, how do I know? Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. That is the name of Jesus.
If you have given your life to Christ you must abstain from sin to secure your victory, a sinner is a loser, the devil has power to control you when you sin, how do I know? 1 John 3:8: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
The third thing you must do to secure victory in life is that you must be prayerful, that is how to utilize the power you have in Christ, through prayer you send missiles to the camp of the enemies, you nullify the plans and programs of the devil for your life. Prayerlessness is powerlessness.
Fasting is one major tool to crush the enemy, from personal experience fasting and prayer has moved my life forward drastically, it is one way to speed up your progress in life, fasting and prayer is liken to exposing highly inflammable substance to fire. Devil and demons are scared of a man who abstains from sin, fast and pray fervently. God bless you.
