PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
9th April
Topic: BESIDE THE STILL WATER
Text : Psalms 23
1: The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
2: He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
3: He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.
This chapter began by referring to God as a shepherd, it means I am a sheep. As a sheep on it own cannot get right direction so can’t I, as a sheep of His flock I don’t have foresight of my life, I can’t even find my way in destiny, I need His leading, my daily bread is not certain without His direction.
Yielding to His leading brings me to the place of abundance, when He asks me to go right I mustn’t go left or else I will go stranded and hungry. By obeying His leading I found myself lying down in green pastures, green pastures connotes prosperity, freshness, I begin to look good and fresh, I can’t go hungry and stranded anymore.
It therefore means that my prosperity absolutely depends on my obedience to His instructions, if He directs me to the north but because I know people don’t prosper in the north, and I go to the west, I will take responsibility for my action, if no one prospers in the north and He is leading me there, it means prosperity awaits me there.
If other people invest in a particular business and failed, if He is asking me to do the same business, then I am bound to be prosperous in it. Apostle Peter is a good example here, after toiling all night at the same spot, the master showed up and gave him an instruction that led to mega breakthrough. Luke 5:5-7.
Divine instruction makes a lot of difference in our lives, why are you still far from where you suppose to be is either you don’t have access divine instructions or you disobeys divine instructions.
Psalms 23 is popular and powerful but many has lost it power. In verse 2 it goes further to say,’ …. He leads me beside the still and restful waters. Take note of the word restful, not troubled water, He brings me to a cool place, beside the still waters, I can’t feel the heat of life, I enjoy the coolness of the river side, coolness of life is my portion, I won’t run helter shelter, there is no storm on the waters, it means no storm in my life, this is what the Psalmist meant.
Point to note here is this; there is provision for you to lie in green pastures that is prosperity, there is provision for you to be by the still water that is a peaceful life but both are connected to your obedience to divine instructions. God bless you.
