Text: Matthew 2:1-23 KJV
1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
Everyone is made with glory but not everyone lives with glory, some lives are without glory because of the activities of the forces of darkness, this is another major cause of lost glory which we want to consider today
The ministry of the devil according to John 10:10 is to steal, kill and destroy, so devil does steal glory of men, kill glory of men and then destroy glory and lives of men, but he cannot do that alone he has agents and vessels whom he uses to carry out his assignments.
From our text above, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the wise men saw His stars (glory), I will like you to note that evil people do see glory too not just good people. When the wise men saw the stars they were full of joy, but when king Herod’s heard of the star, he was troubled, sad and was making enquiry to know where Jesus was born.
He sought to kill Jesus but when he could not gathered exactly where Jesus was born other than it was Bethlehem, he sent out his soldiers to kill all children below 2 years in Bethlehem, however Jesus escaped this killings through the leading and instruction given to Joseph by an angel. Beloved, there are evil men and evil powers that steal glory of men, at times they exchange the glory of men for a life of misery and wastage, such powers are in the business of truncating destinies, turning a glorious life into a useless and meaningless life. They have no regard for anyone, they attack sinners as much as the attack believers.
Dearly beloved, the good news is that for sinners, they can repent of their sins and return to God for restoration of the lost glory, while believers can have their lost glory restored by praying to God and destroying the powers of the forces of darkness upon their lives. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, I terminate every powers of darkness working against my glory in Jesus Name.
* Father, restore every glory stolen away from my life in Jesus Name.
