PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
2nd April
Topic: EXCHANGE
Text : Isaiah 61:1-3
1: The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2: To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3: To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
Man in Eden was meant to live and never die, live in comfort and peace forever. He was made like God never to die, but disobedience to God’s instruction exposed man to the life of sin, misery and pains. Man couldn’t enjoy God and God’s provision, sin exposed man to short life span, sickness, pains, affliction and poverty.
God in His infinite love willing to save man, sent His son Jesus to die for the punishment of the sin of man for man to be free, someone must pay for the consequences of sin, Christ took all the pains on himself that we might have glory, peace and comfort.
It is an exchange, the law of Moses teaches eye for an eye, life for life, so it was Jesus’ life for ours, He took our shame to give us glory, He replaced our pains with His peace, He replaced our poverty with His prosperity.
He took away our sins first, then all the consequences of sin. He has come to give us life in abundance, enjoyable life, not endurable life. This is what His death and resurrection brought to us.
We are not suppose to live in pains and poverty anymore, how do I know? John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Take note of the word ‘ abundantly ‘, plenty of life’s goodness. It is His life for our lives, He paid highest price for our sins, God wanting to justify His righteousness by demanding the wages of sin of man, sent Jesus to help man since man couldn’t help himself.
You must understand that wages of sin must be paid by someone, people in old testament days paid for their sins instantly, God can’t put up with sin, it is like dealing with every act of indiscipline in a disciplined environment, it is like defense authority punishing a soldier for misconduct in the military.
Since wages of sin must be paid by someone, so Jesus paid for us, He suffered and died that will might enjoy life, so everyone who is born again is not suppose to go through suffering and pains anyone, you’re not suppose to pay twice. When you give your life to Christ you’re entitled to ABUNDANTLY LIFE. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* I receive abundant life.
* My life is exempted from suffering.
