PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
27th March

Text: Jeremiah 6:1-30 KJV
13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.
16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
The struggles, problems and challenges of life are not peculiar to individuals alone, even nations have their own share of troubles both physically and spiritually. There are powers of darkness that sponsor evil in the land such as innocent shedding of blood, war, communal clashes, occultism, corruption, e.t.c and so for many nations there is no peace and there is no rest. In addition, any nation, land or people that forsake God and refuse to walk in His way can never know peace or have rest because the wrath of God is upon them.
From our text above, Jerusalem was a city of God, a nation with God’s own people, a nation in which God is not ashamed to be called their God and the people His people, but at this point they abandoned God, and walked in disobedience, and so there was no rest neither was there peace in their land. In verse 16 of our text, God spoke to them that if they needed rest, they should go back and walk in the ancient landmark or ancient path, they should seek for the good way and walk there in, they should repent and return to God.
Beloved, as a nation, there cannot be rest so long we forsake God and despised the ancient landmark. Except we return to God, our nations will not cease to be under the influence and activities of the powers of darkness. Therefore, let’s lift up our nations to God in prayer asking for forgiveness, deliverance from powers of darkness and restoration of peace. God bless you.

* Father, have mercy upon our nations, deliver our lands from evil and restore your peace to our souls in Jesus Name
