PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
25th March
Topic: THE LIGHT OF HIS COUNTENANCE
Text : Psalms 89: 15-18
15: Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.
16: In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17: For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
18: For the Lord is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
Countenance is defined as the appearance conveyed by someone’s face. There is a shinning light in the face of the almighty as bright as the sun, this is experienced as you stay in His presence, everyone who truly had encounter with God never remain the same.
Loot at this; Matthew 17:1-2 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Jesus’ face did shine upon them, this is what happens when you spend time in God’s presence, there will be a reflection of God’s face on your face.
Our appearance privately or collectively before God is not suppose to be a routine but and a life transforming encounter, church is not a place to be entertained or satisfy your passion to worship but a place of encounter.
As you worship God privately in your closest His face should shine on you, that is what the bible refers to as the light of His countenance, the bible says pleasant things about those who have such encounter; the shall walk in the light of His countenance, they shall not walk in darkness, God’s bright light will shine before them.
Verse 16 of our passage says, ‘ In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted ‘, this is the experience of those stay in His presence who understand His joyful sound. The main point of today’s message is this; we don’t just worship God, as we stay with Him, the brightness of His face and presence shines upon us, and from there we go places to manifest His glory.
Each time you go to His presence either privately or collectively in a congregation of believers expect and prepare to have such encounter with God, make sure you do not appear before Him dirty, stay holy to enjoy the light of His countenance. God bless you.

* Lord help me to stay holy.
* Let your face shine on me Lord.
