PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
21st March
Topic: WHY SIT WE HERE TILL WE DIE?
Text: 2 Kings 7:1-8
3: And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
4: If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
5: And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
God made man to make things move on earth, He delegated power to man to control circumstances and not that circumstances will control man. Every man, I mean every man is God’s change agent, no man is made to be a victim of circumstances.
Every man is faced with challenges, what does the word ‘ challenges ‘ means? It is defined as a demanding and stimulating situation. It is simply a stimulating situation, the situation is meant to stimulate you to take actions. The word ‘ stimulating ‘ is defined as make someone or something act in a particular way, it therefore means that challenges is meant to make you act in a particular way, of course you’re expected to take positive action.
No man should stay without taking action for or against situations around his life, it is wrong to wait for things to happen, you are made by God to make things happen, effecting change is an important assignment of man. The 4 lepers in our passage took decision that brought about great deliverance to themselves and their nation.
They had 3 options, look at the options; 4: If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
The 3 options involve risk of death, the first option is GO BACK into the city, second is SIT AT THE POINT THEY ARE, and the third option is to GO FORWARD into the camp of the Syrians, but they chose to GO FORWARD, though it might bring about quick death. Moving forward was the right decision to take in every circumstance.
Don’t allow what you’re going through make you take wrong decisions, it is important you understand that God has given you what it takes to bring about change in and around your life, your decision is the first step to change. The lepers were miserable, but they moved from misery to Splendor, they were blessed and became blessings to others. I will continue from here next Wednesday. Change is possible, things must not remain like this, You are moving to your glorious realm. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today, ask Him to empower and enable you for a turn around in your life.
