PREVAILING VOICE DAILY

Topic: JONAH IN NINEVEH
Text: Jonah 3:1-10 KJV
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
The right place for Jonah to be was Nineveh, and not the ship to Tarshish or the belly of a fish. Jonah was assigned by God, a prophet unto Nineveh to deliver God’s warning to the great city of Nineveh about their wickedness and the impending wrath that God was about to unleash on them if they failed to repent. Glory be to God, Nineveh yielded to God’s warning, they repented and God had mercy on them.
Dearly beloved, the first lesson here is that as a child of God, there is a prophet or a destiny helper ordained by God over your life, there must be someone who you can call your spiritual mentor, there must be somebody who can call you to order when going on a wrong path. This is very important for every child of God, you must have a mentor who watch over your life spiritually and can rebuke you when you are falling, if not you could fall easily and there would be no one to correct you. On this note, care should be taken to prayerfully sought for your prophet or mentor so as to avoid fallen into the hands of fake people who disguise as true pastors or servants of God, because so many have been victim of such.
The second lesson is that, the prophet over your life delivers the right message from God to you. If after Jonah had gone to Nineveh, he failed to deliver the message of God with right tone, Nineveh might not quickly realise how urgent it was for them to repent from their wickedness. It is possible for your spiritual mentor or prophet over your life to deliver inaccurate messages especially when they give room to the flesh, and so its important you pray for them for your sake. Its important you understand that they are human and can still be subject to the dictate of the flesh at some points in their life, and do remember to always align their messages with the scriptures, that is one way to guide yourself from being misled. * Father, help me to locate my prophet and my destiny helper in life in Jesus Name
* Father, I will not be a victim of false prophets in Jesus Name.
