PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
25th February
Topic: APPROPRIATE PRAISE
Text : Psalms 33:1-5
1: Rejoice in the Lord, O you [uncompromisingly] righteous [you upright in right standing with God]; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright [in heart].
2: Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; sing praises to Him with the harp of ten strings.
3: Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully [on the strings] with a loud and joyful sound.
4: For the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.
5: He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.
Everyone sings the praises of our God but praise is not appropriate in the mouth of everyone. The universe recognizes Him as God but God doesn’t recognize everyone as His praise Singer. Read what He says it in Matthew 15:8 These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me. Several people in church are mere worshippers in words, oh how lovely our music sounds in church? But not appropriate before God.
Imagine someone who slanders his or her brethren still come to church with that same tongue to sing praises to God. Of course, you should know that a lying tongue can’t give God appropriate praise, the Psalmist speaking by the spirit of the in Psalms 33:1.. for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright in heart.
Only the upright in heart can give God appropriate praise, those who have set their heart to please God, only a heart that is committed to pleasing God can produce appropriate praise. Our worship must be from a genuine heart, for our praises to be right, our lives must be right with God. Appropriate praise comes from the mouth of someone whose heart is appropriate.
It will be complete waste of time if you go to church with a heart that is not right with God and or ready to seek God. God’s looks at the heart and not just the confession of your lips, God can’t be deceived He knows the intent of every man’s heart. It is wise to make your heart right with God if your praises must be accepted. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Make my heart right with you Lord.
