Topic: A GOOD LEGACY
Text: Proverbs 22:1 KJV
1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold
A legacy is something that is handed down from one period of time to another period of time or from a generation to another generation.
Life is not just to be lived without making impact or leaving a good impact for others following to emulate or live by. Many live without leaving a good legacy for their children or family to follow. The world system believes greatly in leaving of wealth as a good legacy for the family, yes its good but money or wealth alone is not a core legacy. From our text above, a good name is better than great riches meaning a father should first leave a good name for his family, his children and children’s children before he leaves his wealth. It does mean that great riches or wealth without a good name is never a good legacy.
Another scripture Proverbs 13:22 also says “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.”, by this scripture above a good man leaves an inheritance, this inheritance of course include wealth but the emphasis is that the man is good and so leaves a good inheritance for his family but a sinner cannot leave a good inheritance, because he is a sinner, not a good man, in other words that scripture classify a sinner as never a good man, even if he appears to be good to men on earth or deceive men on earth to be a good man. Also it says if the sinner laid up wealth, such wealth is laid up for the just.
Dearly beloved, as a father, mother or guidance what legacy will you leave for your family? a good name and great riches? or a bad name and great riches?. As I conclude, I will like you to answer this questions honestly, what will men remember you for? and what will heaven remember you for? God bless you.

* Father, help me to impact my generation positively and to leave a good name behind in Jesus Name
