Prevailing Voice Daily 23rd February

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
23rd February
Topic: LIFTING OTHERS
Text: Matthew 25:34-46
34: Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
38: And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
The human nature is naturally not contented, there is always a craving to have more. After one level of achievement you desire another level of achievement, and most times we keep being in need because of the cravings for more.
You know most times you only think of people are ahead of you in terms of achievement not those behind and that creates a desire to have more, you probably remember a friend who have just bought a house, or an expensive car or open a big company, and if care is not taken one will end up having endless desires. But you see, there are many people behind you in terms of achievement, in fact, while you can afford luxury for yourself some could not afford to eat, some even lack shelter.
There are lots of people around who are desperately in need, it is important you know that God has not blessed you to keep to yourself alone and family, you have been raised to raise others, blessed to bless others. Comparing yourself to friends who have possessed materials things or acquire big assets will always bring you to unsatisfactory position, but understanding the fact that ‘ godliness with contentment has great gain ‘ will make you think less of self and open your ears to the cries and yearnings of the needy.
While you are thinking of taking your children to most expensive school in town, someone close to you can’t send his children to the lowest cost school, you save lives and destines when you help others. God was clear about this, He spoke in clear terms in Matthew 25: 40; And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Giving attention to the needy is touching the heart of God, when the poor cries to God, God expects the nearest rich man to attend to him, please note: if you’re living comfortably, you’re wealthy.
God takes the cry of the needy seriously, how do I know? Isaiah 41:17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. Allow God to use you as answers to some people prayer. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Use me to lift others.
* As you bless me I will bless others.
