PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
11th February
Topic: THE OIL OF GLADNESS
Text : Isaiah 61:1-4
3: To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
It is interesting to know that God cares for us much more than our love ones, in fact it is as a result of His love towards us that we have loving people around us, how do I mean? Because God loves me, He gave me a loving and beautiful wife, I did nothing to buy her love, but God made her to love me, likewise my beautiful children are in love with their father, always wanting me around them, these and many good things around my life are products of God’s love for me. Having loving people around your life is not because you deserve them, but because God loves you, this not the emphasis today, some other times.
The emphasis here is that God cares for us, when your life is deserted and it seems as if there is no one to help, God is right there beside you, from our text we learnt that God gives those in Zion the oil of joy for mourning, this is an anointing that makes a sorrowful heart rejoice, it comes with a whispering hope, a song writer once sang ‘ whispering hope oh how well comes thy voice, making my heart, in it sorrow rejoice ‘. This anointing brings assurance that your time of storms will be over, difficulties shall pass, light will shine in your darkest moment, healing will come to your sick body, abundance will come in your time of lack.
God gives the oil of gladness to His own, people in Zion, believers, born again, people who don’t have skeletons in their cupboards. This oil of gladness with take you from the realm of sorrow to the realm of Joy, God is interested in our joy, well being, He does not create problem for us but brings us out of problem, and now He is set to bring the oil of Joy upon your life, this is more than billions of dollars in your account because no amount of money can be equivalent to Joy.
This oil is a life time blessing, you hear people say,’ that man is a happy man, that woman is always smiling ‘. I urge you to position yourself to receiving this oil, come to Zion if you’re not, that is, being born again if you’re not, abstain from sin and live right. Joy will be your portion forever. God bless you.

* Lord release on my life the oil of gladness in Jesus mighty name.
