Text: Genesis 30:26-30 KJV
26 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.
30 For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
Planning is needed in every sphere of life, even an event that will only last a few minutes or hours is contracted to event planners or event managers, so how much more a marriage, a home or a family that last till death, you will agree with me that it does require planning.
Home planning is essential especially for intending couples and married couples as well, if you don’t have a picture or plan of your kind of home in mind, then you may likely accept what the society can offer, what fate brings your way or even what the devil may bring against your home.
Today, let’s focus on home planning for married couples. The first and very important aspect of home planning is your home spiritual welfare. Marriage as an institution was established by God as such building a family or a home is not just a physical, emotional or financial affair, it is also a spiritual affair. Your home must be spiritually healthy, it must have a right standing before God, there must be cordial relationship not just between you and God, but your entire home and God and you must plan adequately to work it out and maintain it. Of course, there are so many pressures of life (office pressure, financial pressure, environmental stress e.t.c) that may not want you to give room to your home spiritual well being but you have got to plan it and make it work. So many family even christian homes are lagging in this area, I must tell you that this area is very important to God.
Before I conclude, let see what God said concerning Abraham about his home spiritual welfare in Genesis 18:19 “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” So God commended Abraham that his entire household were in a right spiritual stand with God, they feared God and walked in his ways. Beloved, God is concerned about your family spiritual welfare and so you should, plan about it. God bless you.
