Topic: GRACE FOR GREAT WORK
Text : 1 Corinthians 15:10
10: But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
No man can achieve anything of his own will or power, how many times have you tried, planned, and organized yourself towards achieving a thing and you couldn’t. Look at this scripture; He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. 1 Samuel 2:9.
Have you also noticed that things you could not achieve when the cost was low, you achieved with ease when the cost is high? The difference is that there is an enablement, something or someone made it easy to achieve. while some people struggle to pay their rent, some people write a cheque for a whole house in one day, while someone is having serious marital crisis, some people’s homes are heaven on earth, while some people find it difficult pay for transportation, some people change cars, the difference between the 2 classes is availability of grace.
What is grace? It is DIVINE ENABLEMENT, it is God’s ability given to a natural man to do what he cannot do. Grace is the antidote to sin, it breaks the hold of sin, the first thing grace does is to deliver us from sin, but mind you, sin can extinct grace, how do I know? What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Romans 6:1. If you must receive grace, you must receive its first package; deliverance from sin. Grace is not a privilege to commit sin as some people try to explain it, it is not an opportunity to differ repentance or living right, it is ability given by God to man to live right.
Grace is a teacher, how do I know? Titus 2:11,12; For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; it is a teacher of holiness and righteousness.
Grace is a maker, how do I know? 1 Corinthians 15:10; But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain…’ It makes a nobody somebody, it makes a poor man rich, it makes a wretched sinner saint, it makes a weak person strong, see beloved, the difference between your level now, and your next is Grace. If before the end of this year, you will have great achievement you must receive grace for it, you might not have $10 in your account now, but achieve something worth thousands or millions of dollars before the end of the year. Grace makes the difference.
